PPP

Colorfon uses a uniquely-designed phonetic alphabet in a captivating gaming envoirenment.

HOW?

Generally; by:-

• Increasing your awareness of relying on spelling for producing English speech.

(you already know how to spell with letters; from now on, we are going to learn to spell with SOUNDS.)

• Acquiring, with practise and repetition, those phonems(vowel-sounds) that are missing in your own language (6-10).

• by Excluding the need for concious memorization.

Specifically; by:-

• Understanding basic pronunciation rules applied to common spelling patterns, such as suffixes(er, or, on, ain; etc.).

• Learning to apply these rules through consistent phonetic word-building; not only by observation, but by doing.

• Choosing between good and bad pronunciations of not-so-familiar words.

• Phonetic Crossword puzzles - a no-stress way to demonstrate that your pronunciation training can be fun.

• Acquiring the skill of where to accentuate correctly, essential for emulating the authenticity of a native speaker.

• Recording and saving your own voice (that can then be accessed at any time) to monitor your gradual improvement.

On the left we have four icons.

1. Click on the top left icon and listen to the audio. now deside which of the colorfon words is the most suitable for that version

of the pronunciation. 2. Go down to the list of the words on the bottom of the page and drag it up, releasing it beside the icon

3. Now go to the right side of the page where you'll find the icons of the teacher on the same line.

4.Click on the teacher and listen to the audio, go back down to the list of words, this time choosing to word corresponding to the teachers

correct pronunciation.

5. Do the same for the other words. That’s all. When you're done, go back and listen to the audio again

for each icon on the left and the same on the right.

6. This is an opportunity to compare two different vocal interpretations of the same word.

You may have noticed that each word has an underlined fon; This is a very important addition, as it indicates where the vocal accent

or stress should be placed. If you are unsure of this, then refresh the page and repeat the exercise, giving more attention to this feature.

Every Colorfon word that you encounter will always have(if it contains more than one fon) one of its fons underlined.

As you progress through the exercises, you will become more and more aware of accent positioning.
