Small children learn language neither by reason nor intent:
they simply absorb information from their surroundings and store it in their brain.
Here the process of continuation and repetition builds up a solid and dependable
'library of sounds' created inside a dedicated memory block.
All this takes place unconsciously and without effort. The result over time
is an ability to reproduce the same sounds stored in this memory
through their vocal chords.
Language is born.
Understanding and meaning follow: sounds come first and foremost.
It's an amazing fact that although many of our inumerable experiences over a lifetime
are lost forever;
we never forget our mother tongue!
