This is your HOMEPAGE.

Understanding why sound is immportant.

Small children learn language neither by reason nor intent:

they simply absorb information from their surroundings and store it in their brain.

Here the process of continuation and repetition builds up a solid and dependable

'library of sounds' created inside a dedicated memory block.

All this takes place unconsciously and without effort. The result over time

is an ability to reproduce the same sounds stored in this memory

through their vocal chords.

Language is born.

Understanding and meaning follow: sounds come first and foremost.

It's an amazing fact that although many of our inumerable experiences over a lifetime

are lost forever;

we never forget our mother tongue!

Instructions:

1. Click on the symbol in the square left top - this is the theme sound of this page.

2. Click on the 1st picture at the top in the BLUE frame, and listen.

Now move to the word-image list on the right and choose the word that

you think matches the 1st picture. Drag it up to the top

position alongside it's 'partner'.

3. When you're done, try to 'read' the word-image and repeat it out loud:

this will make learning much much faster, and is the secret to successful pronunciation.

Continue down the list.

4. Use the arrow to jump to the next page. There are 18 pages, one for each of the Colorfon symbols("Fons").

5. Repeat the exercise as many times as you want, until you're familiar with all the sounds.

And thats it.

6. If the page seems too big for your screen, or a black bar appears near the bottom,

use the CTRL key + mouse wheel to reduce the size of the page."

.

Rememember that even as we might struggle a bit to accept what seems to be

an unorthodox and initially a bit of a challenge, be patient and you will be enjoying it.

I always say to my students -

"don't say 'No!' Just say 'Yes!' and try it: I promise you, it won't hurt".

There's nothing more to it than that. All you need now is practise.

Are you ready for your first GAME? The last page of Shuffle will take

you back to the 1st page.

the center circle. Passover the word with the mouse cursor to see the English Spelling

under/over the square.

6. Repeat the exercise until 17 appears in the yellow box. If there is a negative

score in the BLUE box then record this score.

7. If there is no negative score, then this means that you have learnt to

recognise all the Fons! Amazing!!!

8. Be careful. If you make more than 6 mistakes, then you will be forced to

begin the game again.

Not so difficult, right? Don't worry if you haven't learnt all the symbols, it will come with time.

-------------------------------

Once you start playing you will see that the main actions you take are

repetitive so the sequence will, in a short time, become second-nature to you.

At any moment you can refer back to the

info pages by clicking the "HELP" icon at the top of the page.

HAVE FUN!     A.B
